Vaunae Hansel Joins TLC Options for Women as New Executive Director
ST. PAUL, MN, June 1, 2016— TLC Options for Women (TLC) is delighted to announce the hiring of a new Executive Director, Vaunae Hansel. Vaunae has an extensive background in Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) work currently serving as the Executive Director of Options for Women | East, an Affiliate of TLC on the east side of St. Paul. Prior to this she served as Client Services Director at Lakes LifeCare Center in Forest Lake. Vaunae has also served on the Board of Directors for TLC Options for Women for the past 3 years and has been a key member of TLC’s Training Team for the past 5 years.
Vaunae has served as Executive Director at PRCs in Minnesota and on the West Coast since 1997. As part of the Women’s Resource Network she trained and consulted with PRC Boards and staff across California, Arizona and Nevada. She was also the Program Director for a grant from the Center For Disease Control which funded the creation of the Student Federation on Abstinence Education.
Vaunae and her husband Jim have 4 children and 10 grandchildren and live in New Hope, Minnesota. Vaunae will assume her duties at TLC in June.
Founded in 1974, TLC Options For Women is a federation of affiliated pregnancy resource centers in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. In 1993, TLC also found its Executive Director from one of the Affiliates. It was in that year that Will Cossairt left as Executive Director of the University Life Care Center (now ABRIA) to assume the top position at TLC.
Under Will’s dedication and excellent leadership, TLC has grown from 16 to 34 Affiliate locations and greatly expanded the services and support it offers. Many of the current Affiliates are now medical centers, offering free ultrasounds, pre-natal, and other medical services. His care and concern for those who cannot speak for themselves has been a critical factor in his commitment to this cause. Will’s motto, “People before things”, has been a driving force throughout his nearly 30 years of volunteer and leadership in the pro-life community. He was the 2013 recipient of the Archdiocesan Champions For Life Award, and will receive the 2016 Sister Jeanne Therese Award at the TLC Options For Women’s banquet in September.
TLC is grateful for the extraordinary contributions of Mr. Cossairt, and looks forward to ever expanding its role in serving current and future Affiliates under the leadership of Ms. Hansel.
